This online version is available in both English and French.

Electric Library Canada
Electric Library Canada is an electronic database consisting of: magazines, books, newspapers, pictures, maps, and TV and radio transcripts.

Encyclopaedia Britannica
This is the online version of the full printed version of Encyclopaedia Britannica. The site has a great deal of information which can be accessed through its search engine.

E-STAT
Now availiable online through Statistics Canada. Provides access to a wide variety of statistical data in the form of reports, tables, charts, and graphs.

Grolier Online Encyclopaedia
A service for Toronto District School Board students only. Use the monthly user name and password to access the Grolier Online Encyclopaedia. These are the New Book of Knowledge Online, The Grolier Multimedia Encyclopaedias Online and the Encyclopaedia Americana Online.

InfoTrac and CPI.Q.
Use InfoTrac (formerly SuperTOM) to search magazines, newspapers, and reference books for information on current events, the arts, science, popular culture, health, etc. Use CPI.Q. to search a comprehensive list of Canadian and international journals, magazines, and other references.

The Virtual Reference Library (Toronto Public Library)

    These are excellent sites selected by the VRL staff. They are strong in Canadian content.
  • Library Resources:
    This options allows you to search the entire Toronto Public Library catalogue.
  • Databases:
    The Toronto Public Library pays for a finite number of users. The number of users is different for each database. For Example, if they pay for 100 users and you are the 101st to logon, you may not be able to logon at that time. Try again later.
    Search for magazine and newspaper articles on any subject from home, 24 hours a day using these search databases. They are licensed for the Toronto Public Library customers and require a valid library card. Do not use our Martingrove Computer Pass # or your Martingrove Student Card #.
