Canadian Communities School Atlas
GeoAccess, formerly the National Atlas Information Service of Geomatics Canada, in partnership with a Teacher's Advisory Group from the Canadian Council for Geographic Education, is offering this Internet based project to schools across Canada. By participating and creating a Community Atlas web site, schools will be able to be part of the National Atlas of Canada. The sixth edition, an Internet based version, is currently underway and will provide the very best geographical and geospatial information and data to Canadians.

Statistics Canada
Statistics Canada's reputation for high-quality, objective and timely information has gained the confidence of the public both at home and abroad. Statistics Canada is constantly expanding its efforts to make more and more of the information they have available freely through its web site. Whether you are looking for statistical information on a particular topic or analysis of our latest surveys, they are sure you will find your visit interesting and informative.

Environment Canada
Environment Canada's mandate is to preserve and enhance the quality of the natural environment, including water, air and soil quality; conserve Canada's renewable resources, including migratory birds and other non-domestic flora and fauna; conserve and protect Canada's water resources; carry out meteorology; enforce the rules made by the Canada - United States International Joint Commission relating to boundary waters; and coordinate environmental policies and programs for the federal government.

GEOsources: The Canadian Geographic Website
This is GEOsources, Canada's foremost resource for geographical information on the web. Inside you will discover all about Canada, its people and places, and may even travel the globe a bit. GEOsources also has news, quizzes, lesson plans for teachers and much, much more.

The Royal Canadian Geographic Society
Established in 1929, the Society has evolved to make Canada better known to Canadians and to the world. From its first initiative, the Canadian Geographical Journal (now Canadian Geographic magazine), the Society's activities have greatly expanded to include funding for geographical research and expeditions; an extensive lecture series; a geographic education network; and a national student competition, The Great Canadian Geography Challenge.

Natural Resources Canada
Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is a federal government department specializing in energy, minerals and metals, forests and earth sciences. At NRCan, they deal with natural resource issues that are important to Canadians. They look at these issues from both a national and international perspective, using their expertise in science and policy. How they manage our land and resources today will determine the quality of life for Canadians both now and in the future.

Canadian Centre for Inland Waters
These servers are operated by Computing and Programming Services, National Water Research Institute, and Environment Canada. The Canada Centre for Inland Waters (CCIW) is one of the world's leading centres for water research, generating environmental information and knowledge about the Great Lakes. The organizations within the Centre are concerned with environmental research and development, as well as monitoring, resource management, charting, and coastal and harbour engineering.

Norwegian Mountains-The Willassen Guide
As the only country in Northern Europe, most of Norway consists of mountain areas. Central- and western South-Norway as well as virtually all of Northern-Norway are giant mountain-areas with inhabited valleys and fjord-areas in between. It should be obvious that the possibilities for mountaineering in this country are endless. The purpose of this guide is to give an introduction to the most important mountain areas in Norway. In the 'Areas' section, you will find this as well as route maps and information about possible routes in each area. Moreover, a database over mountain lodges in Norway is included. At last but not least; there is a database over descriptions of tours in Norway. You can submit your own additions to both these databases.

This site is made by Parks Canada and contains information on many parks in Canada. There is an alphabetical search feature which allows you to easily find the information you are looking for.

SchoolNet
Established in 1993, Canada's SchoolNet is designed to promote the effective use of information technology amongst Canadians by helping Canadian schools and public libraries connect to the Internet. Through its partnerships with provincial and territorial ministries of education, library authorities, education and library associations and the private sector, Industry Canada's SchoolNet has successfully made Canada the first nation in the world to connect its schools and libraries to the Information Highway.

B.C. TransCanada Trail
The Trans Canada Trail will wind its way through every province and territory linking thousands of communities along its route. It will be the longest trail in the world - a shared-use trail accommodating five potential activities: walking, cycling, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling (where possible/desired).
